4th of July

This year 4th of July was a lot different with a baby.  We still had a lot of fun though.  It’s always fun to start new traditions.  Usually we go to Idaho Falls for the fireworks, which are awesome.  But we decided to skip out on fireworks this year.  We watched them from Washington DC on PBS.  Thanks Neil Diamond and Tom Bergeron for putting on such a great show!  Then we went outside for a minute and heard the fireworks going on all around us in the valley.  It sounded like what I imagine a war zone sounding like.

So our evening wasn’t too exciting, but the day was.  We went hiking to Donut Falls and then around Silver Lake up Big Cottonwood Canyon with Kenny’s dad..  It was a lot of fun, and so much cooler up the canyon.  Lucy even fell asleep in the backpack and didn’t even really whine.  It was so pretty up the canyon, I’m so glad we live so close to nature.

In the afternoon we came down and had dinner with the Pratt’s.  It is always fun spending time with them and their boys.  Lucy especially loves Logan and Trevor.  They are great cousins and she gets so excited when she sees them.

Looks like a fun 4th of July. I liked your family outfits for the day. Too bad I did not get to see you…but I put myself in quarantine. I am so glad that no one else got the disease. Grandma Fernsten
