That year went way fast! I can’t believe Preston has been with us a whole year, but it’s also hard to remember what life was like without him. It’s even hard to remember the time that he couldn’t get around and get into everything, which wasn’t too long ago. He is just growing and learning more and more. I was blowing on his food and then when I gave it to him he started blowing on it too. He blows on most of his food now which is so cute. He’s such a sweetie pie, I love to snuggle him when he actually holds still, which isn’t often.
Two more teeth on top broke through, so he didn’t get to stay a vampire baby for long. He still has his two little teeth on the bottom which I love! He doesn’t talk very much but points and things that he wants. He says mom and dad, and sometimes “see” for Lucy.
He still wakes up at least once at night, recently a lot at night. I keep wanting to break him of it, but he’s not nursing much or drinking milk, so I feel bad taking his nighttime feeding away. We went to his one year check and he was 30″ long and weighed 17 lbs 10 oz. He hasn’t gained much weight and won’t drink milk or pediasure. We went and met with a dietitian and now he drinks a high calorie juice which he loves. Now I’m hoping we can sleep train him and that maybe sometime within the next year he’ll sleep through the night… He is also taking only one nap most days, and it’s in the morning. Which is nice because it leaves our afternoons open, but then it also means I don’t get as much nap time to get stuff done. But I also get some one-on-one time with Preston now when Lucy’s at preschool.
He isn’t wanting to walk, just crawls as fast as he can everywhere and pulls himself up to everything, he’s also starting to climb on top of things. We definitely can’t leave him alone for very long. He loves playing with toys, but wants someone to be in the room with him. I love when him and Lucy play together, it’s the cutest thing. He still loves Lucy so much. Whenever we drop her off at preschool he just cries and cries, poor buddy. His favorite toys right now are the spoons from Lucy’s tea set. He’ll just hold them and crawl around all day. He also really loves putting things on his head and neck. He has these tongs that he’ll put around his neck, and he’s so proud of himself when he does it. He also loves to snuggle blankets, he just nuzzles up in them which is so cute.
We had a really fun birthday party for him. Thank you to everyone that came! He LOVED his cake, it was blue and messy and so much fun. His poop for the next couple of days was green and blue, haha! He has also liked his new boy toys like cars and he likes going down his little slide. He’s adorable so here comes the picture overload!
We love Preston so much! Definitely can’t imagine our family without him, and thank Heavenly Father everyday for this cute little boy!
