Preston has grown up so much in the last month! He’s sitting up pretty good, got two teeth, and is just starting to scoot. He loves the world that is now open to him. I think he’s going to keep us busy. He’s already figured out how to open the bottom drawer on his dresser and take all his pants out. He also keeps trying to go into the little space we have between the wall and our tv stand to get the cords. He likes playing with his toys, but he likes our “toys” so much better, and is always trying to grab them. He jabbers a lot, and his and Lucy’s new favorite thing is to have screaming contests. It doesn’t really bother me though, because at least they’re occupying each other!
Doesn’t he have the best eyes?! I just love them, big and blue. He is very inquisitive and tries to figure things out. Preston is really liking to look at and have books read to him. I’m glad we have another little book lover. I think they’re the best toys. He also loves eating, he gets so sad when his food is done. He’s started to eat puffs and he loves them! With his teeth we had some issues with nursing, like him not wanting to and then biting me to the point of bleeding, it wasn’t fun. But I think we’ve made it through this round, and things are getting back to normal, which is good because he sure didn’t like the formula I tried giving him. He is also really liking baths. He gets so excited when I turn on the tub, just clenches his hands and screams. And now he’s having so much fun kicking and splashing.
Look how long and chunky he is! (I know he’s not chunky compared to most babies, but compared to Lucy he is!) He also has cute chunky toes, I love them. He is definitely getting more wiggly, I think of this since we just got back from church. He wants to be held, wants down, wants a different toy…it gets a little hard sometimes! But my mom was nice and came and held him today while I taught Relief Society.
I’m so happy that him and Lucy love each other so much and have so much fun together. A 3 year gap isn’t what we planned, and it did worry me that they wouldn’t be friends, but so far so good! We’ll see what happens when Preston starts taking Lucy’s toys from her, and when he actually fights back when she takes stuff from him. At least right now we can enjoy two kids and no fighting. We love them both so much!
