Lucy is definitely a girly girl, and for about 6 months leading up to her birthday she talked A LOT about having a pink birthday, so that is what we did for her. She loved it and had a dream birthday weekend.
She got to start out with a day with Daddy at Cornbelly’s at Thanksgiving point. We didn’t think it would be good to take a one month old there with all the dust. She had so much fun! There is so much there, it’s almost as good as going to Disneyland, haha.
The morning of her birthday she got to open her presents from us. We gave her some blocks, sheets, and Minnie dress-up dress. She also gets to start dance class. Of course we decorated the house with pink balloons and streamers. And the day welcomed her with a pretty pink sunrise!
Then I took Lucy and Preston to the Hogle Zoo for their trick-or-treating with the Pratt’s. It was really busy, but Lucy had fun. I didn’t get any pictures though. Kenny got to stay home and get ready for her party.
It was so nice to have a yard to fit everyone in. We had a lot of people there and Lucy had so much fun playing with all her friends. We also did a scavenger hunt and a cake walk, but for prizes. And everything was pink! Megan made the pretty pink cake. It was delicious too, Lucy liked the pink fondant the best.
She got so many fun presents, and is still loving them almost two months later.
We love Lucy so much, we can’t believe how grown up she is getting. She has actually been telling us she’s all grown up, not yet little girl. At her well check she was 38″ tall and weighed 30 lbs. In case you didn’t catch it, she loves all things pink. She loves princesses, Disney, Disneyland, movies, and Preston! She loves watching videos of Disneyland rides with Kenny and is excited to go again in a few months. She is the best big sister, and always willing to help me with anything related to Preston. It took a few weeks, but she is now loving her dance class. She doesn’t really like talking to other adults, but will make friends with any kid she sees. She loves having playdates with her friends. One day we were going to have some friends over, but they got sick, so they couldn’t come. So that day she said a prayer all by herself (which she almost never does) and blessed they’d get better. She loves nursery and is excited to go to primary in just a few weeks. I wonder how she’ll like it when she realizes there aren’t toys. She also loves all her grandparents and cousins and is excited for any time she gets to spend with them. She says the funniest things and is always making us laugh, which is good because it balances out her threenager attitude. We love you so much Lucy, and we are so glad you’re in our family!
