So I had intentions of sending out Christmas cards again this year, but then life happens, so Christmas cards didn’t happen. But with technology I can at least write one up and include some pictures and save it for posterity.
It has been another great year in the Fernsten household! We’re still in the same place, just living small and saving money. But we got to have some adventures this year. In April we went to Zion’s and Disneyland and had tons of fun. In October we went to Boston which was amazing! We have had so much fun with Lucy getting older, just being able to go and do more. We love our family time together!
Kenny continues to work at Western Governor’s University as a web developer. He’s doing great there and loving the work. Of course his favorite time of day is coming home to his family. He serves as the assistant stake executive secretary so he stays busy with that calling also. He has also made a few apps this year in his spare time.
I’m still just having so much fun being a mom! I really am grateful everyday that I get to stay home with Lucy. We keep busy going to the park, library, grocery shopping, play dates, etc. We have a pass to the aquarium and have had fun using that. I am currently serving as a gospel doctrine teacher and still the relief society pianist. Both somewhat scary callings for me, but it has definitely helped me learn and grow.
Lucy is our little princess, we sure love her! The other day Kenny told her she was silly and she put her hand on her hip and replied, “I not silly, I a princess!” We love that she’s so good at talking, and can help us know what she wants. She’s in a toddler bed and doing great, we can’t believe how much she’s grown up over the past year! Last Christmas she was barely starting to walk. She loves pretending. She pretends to be Tinkerbell and we fly to Neverland, or we play princesses and go to the ball. She plays in her kitchen and pretends to make cookies and soup, she also likes helping me cook.
We have been extremely blessed. At this Christmas season, like every day, we are grateful for the Savior. We are grateful for the restored gospel and the knowledge that we get to be together as a family forever.
