I know we still have some warm weather left before it gets cold, but everyone’s back to school and we’ve had a few days where the high has been in the 70s, so summer is over. We had a really fun summer. Lucy just makes everything more fun. She is getting better and better at talking and putting words together for sentences. It is so cute, and a lot of times, really funny. When she asks for things, like to watch Winnie the Pooh, she just looks at you and nods her head and says, “Pooh, yes otay!” It’s really hard to say no in those instances. She knows how to work us for sure.
This picture is showing off her nose scrape. She fell down the concrete stairs in front of our house, it was so sad. I let her watch Pooh that day. Luckily it healed quickly.
The same day Lucy fell down the stairs our ceiling started leaking, and by the time the landlord had turned the water off in the apartment upstairs, our ceiling had collapsed. It took about 30 minutes from when I noticed it to it collapsing, it was pretty crazy. But it’s all fixed now!
One Saturday we went and walked around the Capitol Building. Lucy had a lot of fun running everywhere, and of course she loved the rocks outside.
Have I mentioned that she loves Pooh? This is at the Disney store, she recognizes the Winnie the Pooh characters she sees anywhere. It’s her favorite thing to watch, and her favorite books to read. We went and met Anna and Elsa from Frozen, and she was terrified, the only thing she said was Pooh. I guess wondering if he was there too. When we go to the library she runs right to the Winnie the Pooh books, usually yelling, “Pooh, Pooh!” It makes me laugh because I’m immature like that.
We also went to the Sandy balloon fest again this year. Lucy thought it was pretty cool. She didn’t like having her own balloon though, and got really sad when we tied it on her wrist.
Lucy loves her baby cousin Jace. We finally got some pictures of them. When she sees him or pictures of him she holds out her hands and says, “I hold?” He is pretty cute, we all love him!
We also got to go to the Ogden Temple open house. It was so pretty. Lucy got really upset when they put the covers on her shoes, maybe because she was wearing her fun gold shoes. So we had to carry her throughout the whole thing, but she thought it was all really pretty. It had a lot of paintings in it too, which she loved. I just love the temple, and glad we got to go as a whole family.
She loves reading, especially princess books. She was reading books to her Cinderella doll, so I wanted to take a picture, but I guess she got too caught up in the story so she just ended up putting the book on top of Cinderella.
We went to a Bees game, Kenny got free tickets from work. We didn’t get to watch much of the game. Lucy just wanted to run everywhere. And then she threw her water bottle onto the field. So we’ll try again next year.
Lucy’s starting to help out in the kitchen. She’s been playing with playdough and helped make cookies for our new neighbors. She just ate chocolate chips. She also likes when I cook anything with cheese, because she just sits there and eats that too.
We took another trip to the Curiosity Museum. It was really busy because it was $2 Tuesday. But Lucy and Ethan still had a lot of fun. She actually played really well with these wood blocks. She’s getting better at building things.
It was a very fun summer, but fall and winter will be good too. It’s fun having Lucy around because she just keeps growing so there are always new things for her to do and discover.
