So that was the fastest year of our life. It’s crazy looking back and remembering when Lucy was first born, she was so little! It’s fun seeing how much she has grown and learned over the past year. She just keeps learning more and more everyday. We went and got one year pictures taken and I love how they turned out, how could they not? Lucy is the cutest!
Lucy did great at the doctor’s. She had to get 4 shots, so sad, but she stopped crying pretty soon after. She is growing fast – she weighs 18 lbs. 2 oz, and is 29.5″ long.
She is now drinking milk and eating a lot of food. I’m trying to get more and more variety in her diet, but she does seem kind of picky. Fruit is still her favorite. If she sees we have any type of fruit she won’t eat anything else, so we have to bring that out once she’s eaten other stuff. And she will not eat any type of vegetable.
She’s been loving her toys from her birthday party. She has been pushing around her little car that Grandma Mudrow gave her. She won’t let us help her, so she’s developing an independent streak. The other day I tried helping her and she had a full on tantrum, crying and rolling around on the floor. You’re too young for that Lucy! So hopefully she grows out of that…
I think she still has a little while before she’ll be walking. She is getting braver though. She pulls herself up on everything, including us, and will now switch to different pieces of furniture. She likes to pull herself up to the couch and then use her head to stabilize her so that she can still use her hands to play with stuff. It’s super funny.
She still really likes her binky. I’m trying to be strong and only use it for sleeping. It’s been going pretty well so far. I don’t know how breaking her completely will go. She’s basically done nursing. She still wants to in the morning, I don’t even think she’s getting that much though, so that probably won’t last that much longer. This especially makes me realize that she’s not really a baby anymore!
We tried coloring again, she did a little better this time. Then she started trying to eat the crayons…
She went through a phase for about a week that she wanted me to put a headband on her everyday. And she’d leave it on! It was amazing. But she went back to taking them off, I think they just get in the way of her playing because if it moves at all she just wants it off. But she looks cute with her little pigtails!
